Salt Spring's main town of Ganges is acclaimed as one of the best small art towns in North America! It boasts over a dozen art galleries on the "Gallery Walk" and a vibrant performing arts center, “Art Spring”. There's a special appreciation for live music that cascades over the boardwalks onto the docks of the harbour all year round. There are over three dozen artists on “The Studio Tour”, a self-guided adventure to discover many different art forms that covers the island with everything from acrylics and bath salts to wood turning and Zen gardens.
Did we mention that every Saturday from early April through late October there is the renowned Saturday Market where over 200 artists, craftspeople and farmers share their creations?
Peaceful spaces abound. Salt Spring offers magnificent viewpoints, secluded picnic spots, walking and hiking trails, bird watching, beachcombing and so much more. Salt Spring also offers, tennis, two 9-hole golf courses and horseback riding on its island mountains.
